Evaluation of Olive Varieties Resistance for Sustainable Management of Verticillium Wilt

چکیده
Verticillium wilt resulting from infection by dahliae is one of the most devastating soilborne fungi olive tree (Olea europaea L.) worldwide. The pathogen infects a wide variety plants and can survive in soil for many years, chemicals cannot control it. Therefore, sustainable disease management strategies are suggested, with exploitation host resistance as predominant measure practice. In addition, risk assessment commonly used plant genotypes prominent issue. this respect, nine commercially grown Greek varieties (‘Amfissis’, ‘Atsiholou’, ‘Chalkidikis’, ‘Koroneiki’, ‘Kothreiki’, ‘Koutsourelia’, ‘Mastoidis’, ‘Megaritiki’, ‘Tragolia’) international interest (‘Picual’) were comparatively evaluated their to V. dahliae. roots young immersed concentrated conidial suspension order perform an artificial inoculation. Genetic dissection of Verticillium wilt resistance mediated by tomato Ve1.
Vascular wilt diseases caused by soil-borne pathogens are among the most devastating plant diseases worldwide. The Verticillium genus includes vascular wilt pathogens with a wide host range. Although V. longisporum infects various hosts belonging to the Cruciferaceae, V. dahliae and V. albo-atrum cause vascular wilt diseases in over 200 dicotyledonous species, including economically important c...

The ability of selected modern fungicides and other products to reduce Verticillium dahliae growth and disease development was tested. In the laboratory, the fungicides Quadris (active ingredient: azoxystrobin), Benlate (a.i.: benomyl), Vanguard (a.i.: cyprodinil), and Folicur (a.i.: tebuconazole) were added to an agar medium in different concentrations and the growth of V. dahliae was measured...
متن کاملAccounting for biotic spatial variability in fields: Case of resistance screening against sunflower Verticillium wilt
In breeding for disease resistance, the magnitude of the genetic response is difficult to appreciate because of environmental stresses that interact with the plant genotype. We discuss herein the fundamental problems in breeding for disease resistance with the aim being to better understand the interactions between plant, pathogen, and spatial patterns. The goal of this study is to fine tune br...
متن کاملEvaluation of strawberry cultivars for resistance to Verticillium dahliae Kleb
Verticillium dahlia Kleb. is a soil-borne pathogen which causes worldwide economically important plant and yield losses. So far no resistance preventing the fungus from growing in the plants could be found in the genus Fragaria. But there are cultivars with different levels of tolerance. In particular after the ban on chemical control with effective soil disinfectants (methylbromid) cultivation...
